Default Catching Fish in a Golf Course Pond!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VMoIqXRiemc

It's not always about planning day trips to catch the biggest fish possible. In this video I decided to hit up a local Golf Course Pond that's just a few minutes from my place.

Right behind Discovery Canyon there's a rather large pond that i've been told is home to small Pike, Carp and even the odd Walleye. Although the only fish I can personally vouch for is the Jackfish.

Hope you enjoy the best day I've had out there yet as much as i did. And I owe it all to the Buzz Bait. Definitely a must have when Pond fishing for Pike.

Or a golf range manager!! Courses often stock their ponds and consider it a no-no to fish them. Hope the OP asked permission? Hate to see him get a trespass ticket.

I think the river is right next to it and it flooded a few years back and some fish got into the pond. If I remember right they even had a big sturgeon they caught and released back into the river. But your right, still could be trespassing.

DAMN!!! I knew the fish were there because of the river flooding but that's the first I've heard of them finding a Sturgeon in that pond.

And as far as I know own you're allowed to fish there. I remember my Mom taking me fishing there once when I was like 5. Plus there's signs that say no fishing past this point once you start getting too close to the Golf course.

Looks like fishing is probably fine. The City website and the course site says it is a public fishing area.

It's a city owned public course at a city owned family park. The pond itself is actually not 'on' the course, but does edge a few of the holes, most notably, the 9th.

There was a Sturgeon caught many years ago after the floods in early 2000s:. Web link:

Otherwise, small pike, the odd walleye, and I'm sure now some Prussian are in there.

Cheers
