Default A Few Spring Bulls

Headed Out to the Hills for some Bulls before heading back to Work. The Snow Out West was Waist Deep in spots, with some bare South Facing Hills. Was a Long Hard Hike to get to some of my Honey Holes, and the Snow that did support my weight heading in, did not on the way out...Would have liked to chuck some Streamers but the Wind was hard and steady, so stuck to Swim Baits. Got into a few Decent guys, and lost a couple around 8lbs or so. By early afternoon the River was getting Cloudy, and weather moved in so called it a Day. Ended up with 8 Bulls. Felt Great to bend a Rod! this little guy got it in the head... Biggest of the Day [IMG] First Cast Beauty Hole, suprisingly only Bulls in it..

Great photos, thanks for sharing.

A few us are heading west on Sunday. Hopefully some of us can duplicate your success!

Cheers

I want to say Clearwater, but not sure. Regardless, some beauty Bulls. Congrats.

Nice catches man! I used almost that same hook chasing bulls in the wind yesterday..... without your success. Got lots of hits but not too many hookups. My hook seems to have 5 fewer points than yours you lucky duck. Awesome job and i feel your deep snow pain... snowshoes are pointless this time of year here.

Ya you need every hook you have for them somedays, they hit from any direction.. I ended up foul hooking a couple when they swooped at it. You get one maybe two oportunities with the big guys, then they wont move! I lost two nice ones from shaking a barbless hook on me... both from a lightly hooked lip. One hook does not help a guys odds much ;(

Bulls are like Pike ..... sometimes they tend to head butt the bait in an attempt to stun it - only to turn around and then try mouthing it.

If I'm missing strikes, I stop reeling or dip my rod tip and they come back around quite often.

I always found it funny - how many Pike and Bulls are caught this way.
