Lonesome Dove is the best western of all time. The writing and dialogue is truly incredible.

Many many other lines that are brilliant.
BUT, technically, its not a movie, its a mini-series, so it doesn't qualify
My choice would be "The Good , The Bad and the Ugly" Its a epic with many moving parts, I guess from a technical perspective its not a great movie, but from an entertainment perspective, I love that flick.
While we are on the topic of movies filmed in Alberta, here's a few filmed on my property or just across the river from me, that I like to watch only because I like to see the locations on the screen.

I have watched the extended trailer for Old Henry, we will be watching soon, I suspect it will make my list as well.

There have been some great ones mentioned on here and a lot of good movies that I still haven't seen apparently.
