A good rule of thumb is to file the cheapest part. However that is not always the case. Do you have a picture?

its kindve hard to tell by these pics chuck, but the safety is just barely hitting the trigger safety tab, i think they called it, by like a 16th or 32nd.

I believe you need to remove material from the trigger to allow clearance to engage the safety and not to much that the trigger can fire when the safety is applied.

ya i saw that after re reading them haha, but im pretty nervous about screwing it up, but oh well. And also last time i had my barrel off my stock it took alot of dinking aound to get the barrel floated again, is there an easier way to put it back together the right way, i seem to always have a problem with the barrel not being floated properly, and the floor plate not latching 100%

I would hold the presses right there then. The cure to your barrel channel woes is to have the action properly bedded in the stock. While it is there for that treatment have the smith take a mill to that trigger and properly fit it. Win win.

Or tackle it yourself with a little help here. Either way it would benefit greatly from a bedding job.

I have installed a handful of timneys on the Rugers. The first one you are worried about wrecking something, then they are easy. As Chuck and the instructions say, file the trigger - NOT the safety. They wont sell you a safety - you need to send the rifle in to have them install it.

Call Mitch Kendall in Kamloops and ship the rifle to him. I would imagine $125 would cover the works.

If you need a hand bedding your ruger I'm happy to help.

8lbs!!! Wow...it amazes me how some people can actually stand to shoot a trigger from the factory like that.

Good on ya for getting it swapped over and adjusted nicely. I find 4lbs a bit heavy, but compared to 8 it should feel amazing!

TangoKilo is great with guns and if you wanted it bedded I'm sure he'd do a great job for ya.
