63 pounds on each.
Some guys like less let-off on the target bow, 65% instead of 80%

why dont you drop the poundage so that the hold is easier its not like the target or 3 d target are going to move or duck under it

target bows
I think some target shooters lower the poundage when they are in events like 5 spot or other events where you are shooting 5 or 6 arrows in a couple of minutes. 3-D is different as you shoot 1 arrow wait for others to shoot walk to next target, so you may shoot 1 arrow every 10-12 minutes or more.
I shoot 62 pounds for everything although if I was shooting an event where I had to shoot 60- 90 arrows I would consider coming down a bit.

I shoot my targets at the same weight I hunt. So 73#. I choose this because my bow doesn't go up to 80# haha.

I personally don't change my weight.
But some guys go to 30 -40 lbs for target and birding.
The beauty of archery is custom fit to personal preference.

In FITA (target archery) the bow maximum for compound is 60#.....+- 1 lb
On my target bow I shoot about 56 lbs but decrease the letoff to increase holding weight as it helps make me steadier with added bow mass weight. When it comes to bow satbilization to hold the pin steadier there is a balance between mass weight, holding weight, stabilisation setup that combined with proper bow fit, archer form and alignemnt will make the pin hold steadier.
I now use the same bow for everything and all I have to do is minor changes for the game I am playing....

I am primarily a target archer and I would definitely recommend shooting a lower draw weight. It is true that, for compound, the maximum draw weight allowed is 60 lbs. That is unless you are shooting in one of the bowhunter catagories. In that case the maximum is 80 lbs (why anyone would shoot this draw weight at a target event is beyond me).
During outdoor target events, you are shooting at a minimum 144 arrows (not including those during official practice) over 4 distances; 6 ends per distance; 6 arrows per end. The time limit to shoot each end is 4 minutes. My target bows are set at 54 lbs given the muscular endurance required. Think about it - 54 lbs x 144 arrows = at a minimum, your upper body is pulling about 8,000 lbs over the course of the day. It just makes sense to shoot a draw weight that you can comfortably and safely shoot over the course of that many shots. That draw weight will be different for each archer.

We shoot FITA leagues all winter...but not FITA sanctioned..some tune bows down but most of us as avid bow hunters shoot hunting weight...
My personal comfort zone is 64-66 lbs pending on bow for all
Neil
