Default Answering the door this halloween

With covid out there will you be answering the door to hand out treats this year? Let's see your ideas.

Thinking I'm going to fill paper lunch bags and let the kids take one. That or just give them a 'healthy' dump of sugar loot straight from the box.

I think I'll be putting up a sign that says" This year I have decided to dress as a nudist, ring the door bell if you dare. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!" Maybe Ill attach a photo of EZM just to add the extra scare factor

I wont be answering the door at all, Ill be to busy getting ready for opening day of deer season.

I was thinking of doing the same. We live in the county so we don't get a lot of kids.

We'll still make up candy bags and set them out like we do every year, incase anyone comes by (usually Mrs. Buckbrush and kids are out and I'm being anti-social working in the shop)

We're not expecting anyone. I think we had 6 kids last year but since we are 1/4 mile from the next house, I'd hate for someone to come for nothing.

Business as usual, but will meet them outside on the step and drop the treats into their bags

I always love seeing the neighbourhood kids and giving them a treat but this year I am considering vetoing the whole thing. I will make gift bags for the immediate neighbour families that know me well but not supporting the door to door visits.

TBH I don't think kids are going to be going house to house. Already it was more popular to go to places like malls for trick or treating and now with those events shut down I suspect a lot of parents are just going to buy their kids candy.

I agree with you. I can’t see it happening this year which is too bad. I love handing out treats to those little kids. But if things are on track we could have 300 or more new covid cases per day by October. Wouldn’t be safe going house to house.

I always answer the door Nude.

Particularly enjoy shocking certain types of people trying to enlighten you. Peek at the window, see the nice white dress shirts and name tags, drop the pants and answer the door ........... works every time.

BUT ........... not gonna be doing that to kids ....... like a creepy perv.

On the ones "trying to change your life", or "selling salvation".

i will ask a friend to sit on my porch and make it a game

There will be a chalk line on my sidewalk. About 6 ft away. She has to toss the candy into their bag. If she misses, they get two

If they move the bag so she misses, I pour her another shot and the kid has to pick their candy up off the sidewalk

I figure by 8 she will miss every time so I will be buying more chocolate bars than normal this year......

If I REALLY feel devilish, I will put up a sign on my garage door that reads "MAKE SURE YOU MOVE YOUR TRICK OR TREAT BAG WHEN THE NICE LADY THROWS YOUR TREAT!"

If I do that, chick will be done by 630pm.....

What about the people with kids? We're kinda lucky we have a 13 year old that understands, and 1.5 year old that has no clue what's going on. I do still want to dress the little one up as a little demon or something like that. Just not sure about taking something edible from every neighbours house.

This is the one night where everyone wears a mask. Should be super safe. Hope it is as normal as possible.

Pretty much our plan here too.

Although I really like Huntinstuff's plan. Gotta think about that for a bit.
