I dont have either, nor have I watched it, but lemme guess.

Peoples feeds and advertising is 100 percent based on what we search, talk and text about.

Our interests, biases and views are reinforced and shoveled down our throughts through advertising and what we see everytime we open our social media?

Watched it last night...I’m still shook...havnt had social media for a few years but use YouTube extensively. I knew most of what they talked about but it really ties a few things together about why everyone is so divided...what a disaster.

I've pretty much cut my bookface down to marketplace, memes, and hot models. And watching Tomi Laren's rant about men and laughing at the entitled princess.

Don't have Instagram. Have twitter, and open it like once every few months.

I have youtube on my phone, but that's it for social media on my phone. Youtube on my phone is used like a tool to help me figure out things faster (usually mechanical repairs), and not entertainment.

I also have disabled the news and google assistant, and other voice commands on my phone. I don't have adds popping up about what I've been talking about. I went through and disabled about 3/4 of google's stuff when I got the phone.

On days where I'm in an area with decent cell coverage, I'll get 3-4 days on a battery charge. If there's poor reception, that will go down, sometimes to 2 days.

Default Alex Jones was right

So what your telling us is that Alex Jones was right 10 to 15 years ago. He called it on the media and our technology monitoring us. He also called it on the powers that be trying to isolate us into ideaological camps. Divide and conquer, its a classic.

Here is something a bit lighter

Just watched it kinda messed up and scary

Seen issues with social media early on and how easily it could be used to manipulate people. This documentary shows areas I never considered though

Never been big on social media and have never even had Facebook. But I can see some of the issues the documentary brings up in even the small amount of social media I do use

I have said for a long time social media has given idiots and extremists a platform to speak to the masses and find each other. The political manipulation has become clearer or more common in recent years too

The algorithms are taking in all the data on what people chose and are coming up with a best representation of the average person. After that A.I. is completed, they can make people subliminally do what they want.
I watched a magic guy on AGT. He put pictures of a sun subliminally in a preview of his trick. Then he told everyone in the audience to draw any picture they want. They ALL drew a sun.

And to think our kids are on phones and these manipulators are accessing that.

“ the reason why advertising works is because people don’t think it works on them”

“ if you not buying a product, then YOU are the product”.

Exclamation It's gone beyond marketers and propaganda

Did the show touch on this recent revelation:
Quote:
China Has Built a Massive Global Database for Hybrid Warfare, International Media Reports

The revelations that Chinese tech firm Zhenhua has built a database of 2.4 million individuals for intelligence operations are significant though unsurprising.

I just finished it. Down right jarring.
The scariest of all for myself, is it’s so engrained in society now. I’m not much of a conspiracy theorist, but damn!

Watched an hour of it and turned it off. Absolutely nothing that I didn’t already know.

Ever be with a group of people in your house and someone mentions an item?
Someone says “Bulova watch” and all of a sudden a few minutes later a bulova watch ad is in your fb feed or on your YouTube ?

Yup.....

The part where they say they are not advertising product to us...but that we are the product and they are constantly 'improving' us was especially scary.

I don't have that problem, but I do like to just randomly say thing in conversations with friends so it happens to them.

Unfortunately this will only work for the foreseeable future. The cell phone manufactures are following smart TV technology...they are all working on imbedding the camera in the actually screen of your phone where you will have no idea where it is.

I agree, any day that system will be in there.
I already pre determined that the cell I have now will be the last phone I ever own.
Cells are becoming dangerously insane/intrusive (in slow boil frog fashion), on the possible
weapon they can (will?) be. When my 2016 cell no longer gives me service, I will officially
become a club member of: #DitchYourCell
