I received an email from the RCMP Firearms folks yesterday.
The following jumped out at me...

"If your Firearms License is about to expire renew it on-line today.
The fee associated with the renewal of a Possession and Acquisition License will be increasing every year on March 31."

The fee increases with inflation every year now, I was aware of this about 2 years ago.
It’s on the order of about $1.25 a year.
