Smile Taking some Ozzy boys out for a day of ice fishing. Any suggestions as to where I should take them?

Taking 2 buddies from Austrailia out ice fishing next weekend. It sounds like PCR is not fishing well these days. Any suggestions as to where to take these 2 blokes so we can get them into some fish?

Not needing your secret spot. Or what your using. Just some suggestions to make the experience a good one for them.

I think meeting a bunch of AO members would be enough of a freak out for anyone!

X2, couple weeks ago i took a guy out from south africa, he was amazed we were driving on the lake and he loved the auger...so i let him drill all the holes. Fishing was good, even if it wasnt he still loved it. Oh he also loved our little ice fishing rods here...he took pic's of everything. Set him in a tent so he could see bottom and fish stiking the hook.

I had just as much fun as he did, knowing it was all new to him. Just like having a big kid with me....loved the excitement.

Hey King, is this their very first time on the ice or have they ice fished before and want to go again.

Yes they have seen the mountains. My wife and I took one of them (Chris) to Lake Louise this summer and hiked to the back tea house. Since then he's been back there twice with his girlfriend and also with his folks when they came to visit.

The second guy (Patrick) has been in Alberta for about 2 years now. But neither have gone out ice fishing. In fact they both have said they want to go fishing. But neither have made it out. Always something comes up. This time however the one guy Chris has to go back to Austrailia in March. He really wants to get out and ice fish. I was going to take them to the Badger Derby. But the limited time Chris has we have to make it this weekend or not at all. So sunday is it. They are both eager and ready to go.

I would have loved to take them up north Niceman. But there just isn't enough time to get out there and back in a day.

Should be a fun time.

Rob

Dad was there a few years ago and explained ice fishong to some of them. They followed right along with his story until he told them that after we catch and clean the fish we build a fire on the ice and cook them right there. There was no way they would believe you could build a fire on the ice !

Rob, I'll touch base later in the week or you can call me. Want to see what the weather does and may have some ideas. It's 50/50 on whether I free on the weekend but will let you know if you want company.
