Default Fishfinder Transducer?

As i mentioned in am setting up my humminbird 160 on my 12' aluminum. I am getting ready to put the transducer on, when i mount is it supossed to be completly in water or just the bottom in water or what? Thanks

Looks like it, make sure that when the tranducer is in the up position that nothing can get hung up. Put it up and go to the front of the boat and look down the bottom on the underneath of the boat, you should see nothing. That means nothing will rip it off.
