Default Fishing Sask

Wife, kids, holiday trailer, 12-14ft car topper.
I am Planning a weeks worth of road touring and fishing this summer to the east of us. I google mapped the place to find a direction to start in. And Looked at the fishing saskatchewan website for info. The site is good with specific info about the fishing quality on certain lakes, but alot of lakes are not listed. Any thoughts on where to start? Not real picky, Just looking to limit out daily on 20lb pike and 12lb walleye.
But any lake with some decent fishing to keep the wife and kids attention would do

depending on how far you wont to go .there are alot on lakes in sask that you can get huge fish.for a week long trip i would head north of pine house on the way up to key lake mine .sandy lake for eyes not that big but you get one every cast fish the mouth of the church hill river .for big pike and and Lakers just north about 10 or 15 km there is Gordon lake .
there are allot of lakes along the road you can camp and fish right off shore.im thinking of heading up that way this July to spend a week.
pm me if you need more info

Go to meadow lake provincal Park. It starts just east of Cold Lake. The 1st lake is lac de isles. Just head east from there. 50 lakes in a 50 km stretch of gravel. Mistohay, rusty, otter, petahagan, matheson, gregory, kimble, waterhen, 1st,2nd and 3rd mustus. A killer trip. been fishing for years and years and that is still one of the best trips i've ever done. Don't go too early since it's a river system and u gotta give the walleye time to get out of the big spawning lakes and into the smaller lakes. also bring 50 lbs of leeches. Call me for more info. Default Hanson Lake Road

Get on over to Prince Albert and look for the signs pointing to Flin Flon. On this stretch of highway you can fish at a different spot every day on your trip towards Manitoba plus you can detour off the track and hit up places like Jan Lake and Deschambault and about (lots) of other spots. Sort of like heading west from Prince George B.C. only BETTER.
At one camping place at Jan (and this was a few years ago) I met a native fellow and his family who not only cleaned our catch every day but pointed us towards spots that were guaranteed to produce fish. I never ate so much walleye, before or since, and the 10$ a day we payed to get a pan full of filets was priceless. Or like Walleye Bob says, Big River, which is on the west side of P.A. National Park; the area that I described is east.
My only advice is to bring two boats as not all of these places have a concrete boat launch.
Free. (to launch the Lund or the Guppy)
p.s. see ya at the Big River ice derby next month!!

Be careful. Be very careful. Random trips to Saskatchewan have been known to lead to annual trips which can lead to a permanent move. HaHa. 6 years of an annual fall pilgrimage to Tobin lead to us making the move.
A good place to start would be the Saskatchewan discovery guide which will have a road map as well as the fishing and hunting guide. You can order these online for free. Lots of great info in these .

If your going to be at the Edmomnton Sportsman show you can come see us at the Nipawin/Tobin Lake Booth. We will be giving these away at the show. Cheers

Undoubtably the best fishing I've ever done was White Sands dam on Reindeer Lake. Right off shore, every cast. It's a hell of a hike but well worth it.

Default Fishing Sask

I have to agree with Top Water on this one we went up to Lac La Plonge ea of the past 2 yrs. My first yr I caught a 12 plus pound laker casting a buzz bomb on a light rod with light line what a fight. Lat yr fishing and weather was poor but Co Scotch beer & wine was good. Early June we are going on a fly in to trout lake in Northern Sask, one of the group decided he is not able to go so I get to take my 12 yr old son in his place we can hardly wait this is going to be a trip of a life time Big pike big Pickeral & lakers on a nearby lake.
