The livingston fish hatchery in town has a stocked pond for kids to discover fishing. Not sure of the state of stocking yet though, but I'm sure they could tell you if you called. There's lots to see inside the hatchery too if he gets bored.

There's also the bow habitat station in inglewood. It may be the same place with a new name.

The Kinsman pond in Strathmore is a great place for kids. A pickerel rig and some valvetta cheese is all u need. Its been a while but I don't think it gets stocked till May

As an fyi the place by the fish hatchery there is a bait ban and I beleive its C&R, chain lakes is always a good bet, McLean creek pond, sibbald meadows pond. Also good to remember that stocking usually takes place in May.
