Question Synthetic or Natural Stripped Peacock Quill

I have been trying to find some stripped peacock for some fly tying. I recently found out there is also a synthetic version.

Does anyone know where I can find it locally?

You can strip pheasant herl easily with a pencil eraser, at least I assume that's what you're looking for?

I was led to believe the stripped "quill" was different than the herl.

From the eye I think. Assuming if it's that easy with the eye as well then I will give it a go. But it seems that that would take forever.

Guess I will see what YouTube has to say but it seems like it should be a fairly common thing with the amount of times I have seen it in bug recipes.

I usually strip my quills in bulk using bleach, the eraser method takes to long. It pays to experiment a bit with the timing on a single quill first. Use large mature peacock eyes for the best results and banding.
