Default Wabamun Ice Free?

My buddy and I are looking to take out his boat this weekend to try out his new Helix 5 and other boat mods. Does anyone have any updates on the water conditions at Wabamun? We'd want to get in from the town boat launch, but we're not quite sure how ice free it is yet. We were hoping to save some gas money and see if anyone here's been there lately.

Also, are there any other lakes around Edmonton (-2hrs drive) that are accessible by boat for this weekend?

I think it will be another week or two yet. I was east of Edmonton this past week and ice was 10% off the lake. A few days of hot, sunny and windy days should do it though.
