Felt boot

Was wondering if anyone here would still spend decent money on a good felt wading boot? I'm aware of the whirling desease and I do clean my gears but I read on here that they might get ban so don't want to invest on one if that's the case. What are your thought on this? Thanks

They have way better traction. I will use them as long as possible

Yeah, it's hard to know when the Alberta government will go to rubber/vibram soles. I also have the Simms Freestone in felt and recently bought the same boot in rubber to fish the national parks. I will continue to use the felt ones for as long as I can and where I can. Like others have said, I believe they have better traction. If/when they prohibit the felt, I'll put studs or cleats on the rubber ones. I do like this boot. Priced ok and comfortable right out of the box.
