Default Found boat on Cold Lake

I found a blue 8 -12' pontoon style boat upside down on the east side of Cold Lake early sunday morning June 26 . I notified the marina and RCMP who sent out a boat for recovery of the boat . Still waiting for reply .

Ya I have heard nothing around here after you let me know.

Would have been eerie coming up to it as you wouldn’t know what to expect.

How was/is the fishing?

Heading out tomorrow to stir up the bite!!!

I found a boat out there 2 years ago abandon floating in the middle of cold lake a few miles from shore. Defiantly and erie feeling pulling up to it. Thankfully turned out to be some one that didn’t tie it up over night and a storm got it.

More times than not - that's all it is. A small pontoon like that was probably on shore flipped upside down all winter and as the ice came off and water went up, it got pulled into lake.

Let's hope that's all it is.

Had the same happen about 3 years ago early one morning. Found a small tinner adrift about a half mile offshore between the marina and PP. Looked around and didn't see anyone. Called Cold Lake Rescue, gave them the registration numbers off it, they eventually located the owner but the registration numbers were from a previous owner. One of the rescue members recognized the boat as a local owner who lived on the lake. He had pulled it up on the shore but winds and waves took it for a drift overnight. It's an eerie feeling for sure pulling up to an empty boat adrift full of gear and no occupants especially when there is life jackets laying on the seats and floor...
