Hide Tanners, Anyone know one in Southern AB ?
I have a couple of good elk hides i would like tanned for leather.
Can anyone recommend a tanner or tannery? Thank you!

You might wanna check out the Rayle colony just by StMarys reservoir
I heard they may be back in business Rick
Last one I got done, I ran it up to Edmonton and Western tanners did it for me.

Jim Lam, Lam Chi Trading in Lethbridge has been the place for us. Normally the lowest price too.

I had several hides tanned by this colony many years ago, then they quit doing it, heard they were shut down for environmental related concerns. I am glad to hear they may be back in business. Thanks Rob.

I think Jim sends to winnepeg tannery pretty sure ive seen their stamp on his furs i maybe wrong tho

He is definitely at the Lethbridge gun show every year, over the last 5 years or so he has added many knives and other Chinese junk to his table, yes.
I talked to him last week at a tradeshow here, he's paying $40-$80/per coyote this year.

Jim Lam has always farmed the tanning work out, but his volume results in low prices.
He has been doing gun shows for many years including our Spring Show in Saskatoon.
Yes, he does have Chinese knives, as well as furs and moccasins, and trapping supplies.
We used to ship hides by bus in freezing weather, but not sure how, since bus freight is gone.
He always treated us well.
