Either/or
Either voting for the lesser evil, UPC,revolving door, nothing has changed in the last 70 years, nothing will change in next 70 years
Or vote for pastor Arthur and Independence Party and give them a chance
BTW He did a great speech by the Lethbridge courthouse yesterday, wondering if it's on line.

Artur seems a little too extreme, even for Alberta. No thanks

I'll make the opposite of a Bold Prediction and say Danielle for the win.

The earliest results should be in by six PM... Longer if they have to go past the first ballot.
Will be interesting to see the results!

First ballot results. This may get interesting with the screwy voting formula.

I'm surprised that Toews is such a strong contender, compared to Jean.

Yeah, heading into round 5, I'd say Smith took Jean's votes.

Yes they have. On the 5th ballot
Brian Jean 14.8%
Travis Toews 37.4%
Danielle Smith 47.7 %
Smith has been low to Mid 40's since the 1st Ballot

I cant help but wonder why people would want a UCP leader who has proven on multiple occasions that she cant win elections. Throw any sort of complication at her mid election run and she's toast, all of which raises the question... if she's not smart enough to perform any effective damage control during an election, is she a smart enough politician to actually run the province?
All back story and policy aside, Smith has managed to lose at least two elections that should have been hers simply (three if you count the one that got dropped in BJ's lap last minuet after she sold the Wildrose out). Putting her back in the driver's seat seems like a very short-sighted plan to me.

Danielle Smith has become Alberta's premier with 53.77% of the Vote.

What about Rachel?
You don’t have to like her, but she won a general election, not just a leadership race.

And what about Allison Redford. There were two previous women leading the province. And both won legitimate elections.

That was a Split vote. Conservative votes outnumbered NDP votes in majority of ridings the NDP won. If there was only one party to vote for the NDP would have been relegated to non party status.

So then has every conservative been illegitimate as the left divides between several parties. Liberal, NDP, Green, Marxist, Communist…..
Like I said, you don’t have to like her, I don’t, but she won a general election legitimately.
I also had tried to block the memory of the Red Queen TC reminded us of too.

Do we really want this topic to be sexist and derogatory in nature, and about the gender of current and former premieres? Asking for a friend. One who is sick and tired of comments of that low brow nature.
AO doesn't have to be like this.

Also, as she doesn’t currently have a seat is she actually the premier? She is merely the leader of the UCP as of right now if I’m not mistaken.

I was hoping for Toews, I think his qualifications were better & his ideas are more sensible. My fear is that Danielle with her more 'out there' intentions might well hand the next election over to Rachel.

Sooooo not a peep from Danielle's speech on the demonized law abiding gun owners in this province? Should we be worried she won't put the pressure on Ottawa like Kenney and Shandro were doing?

Not that there was a strong candidate running, but I can't trust a turncoat. I don't see us any better off, than we were with Kenney.

I tend to agree. I hope she proves both of us wrong.
