They have sparrows in the store. Yuk. They have had them off and on for years now. Saw two a couple of days ago and this morning my wife says they are happily chirping away.

See some all the time in a Rona in Calgary, not really a spot one can just drop them with a 12 gauge on night shift. In a Superstore one can't exactly put out poison though.....

How would the creative problem solver types on here address this?

They are in most Costcos and at the International Airport too! They must find enough crumbs to survive on.

Are these sparrows that have escaped from the Italian food section???

I hunted for many years with an Italian. We ate lots of sparrows and starlings. He could catch them in short order.

He used glue. I could never do it, because I couldn't stop laughing at him in full bird catching mode. He took it very seriously.

Think I'll give him a call. I can always use an hour or so of laughs.

Oh yeah! the birds were delish.

Arrow Trap & release

Most big warehouses and big-box stores have 'trap & release' programs in place. It works pretty well, but it doesn't stop new sparrows from getting in. It's an ongoing process.

Have too like the automatic sliding doors.

There are birds in millennium place in Sherwood park.

Last Saturday a stafford terrier let itself in through the sliding door.

How would the offcials in Calgary handle this situation?

Some places have cats out at night patrolling. Bulk Barn Cats...sounds like a good hippy band name.
