Default House Got Shot

So we were having coffee and breakfast yesterday morning and heard a shot that was close, the wife said it felt like her feet vibrated, didn't clue in at that moment. Did some looking today and found a hole through our styrofoam brick and ICF foundation, must have stopped when it the cement. Must be the vibration the wife felt. It's unbelievable that guys shoot towards a subdivision and people's houses, not knowing what's beyond when they miss. My house would have been clearly visible, just don't understand how shooting a animal is more important than putting people's lives at risk.

Brutal. And most likely completely missing what they we're shooting at. Or scoping the wife through the window and pulling the trigger by accident. Either way, just brutal.

It would be nice to catch these guys and remove their teeth with the butt of their gun. Not that the cops would be much help but I hope you notified them.

With the end of season looming, some are making some last ditch efforts to fill tags, versus hanging their tag on the Christamas tree. Three times this week we had trucks with camo clad hunters pull down our drive to look at game behind our shop. When I walk out of the shop they pull a Rockford and lit out. Amazing how inches of horn clouds ones judgement.

we had a similar incident happen at the farm. Had the holiday trailer sitting by the house and found a bullet went clean through the trailer.

Sure would be nice to thin the idiots out of the hunting community because they are the ones wrecking the reputation of those who do things safe/ethical

Years ago we were down deer hunting at the FIL's brothers farm, the first night when we got there we were sitting in the living room of his house trailer having a beer and the BIL said what's that on the wall there, well it was a bullet, made it through the wall and was just peeking out on the inside, we dug it out .312 so looked like it came from a 303. Lots of hills in that country so probably someone shot at something on the top of a hill.

I know a guy that has found 2 bullet holes in his machine shed over the years, it happens more than we think, guys don't think of their backstop IF they miss and they often shoot at animals standing on top of a hill, unreal

You can't fix stupid, but a lifetime firearms prohibition might be a good start.

I am not going to lay judgement on people I don’t know well enough to say how they act out hunting. I don’t doubt there is some for sure because there always is in a large group though

What I can say is I am always reluctant to hunt with new people because of some of the BS I have seen or know others have experienced. I have met solid ethical hunters and met some real WTF hunters too

That’s a good start but if someone screws up and shoots a house putting the public at risk consequences should be harsher than that even

Of course there should also be criminal charges.

I've got bullet holes in grain bins ,irrigation pipe, cows and 3 years ago my sister was missed by a 7mm bullet by 3 ft as she walked around the corner of her house .. lots of peace and quiet out here in the country .

I was in 346 a few years ago walking across a field towards my truck in the windfall area had my BIL with me a truck pulls up about 300 yards away a person gets out and fires a shot in our direction. We hide behind a bail and yelled the truck peeled out of there.
I reported it never heard anything about it.

I have a few different bin yards so I have grain bins with bullet holes in too. One grain bin door has been blasted with a shotgun. I’ve had a bullet hit the ground 20 ft away while getting into my pickup in my own field. But the most unnerving one is the bin in my home yard with a bullet hole in it. It could be been my wife or kids hit.
