Default Picky Eater !

I have a few semi auto s that will
shoot anything ....but the new
Weatherby SA-08 20 ga does not
like Winchester Super Target Loads .
It's ok with Federal Field loads .
So I wish I hadn't bought all that
Winchester on sale at WSS ...
Maybe after she shoots a few boxes
Of heavier loads it will loosen up .
Any other ideas ....?
Thnx Nik

I have the Sa-08 in 12 g and it has cycled everything I've put through it so far.

Both the Feds and Super targets are very similar hulls so maybe the gun will loosen up a bit after a while, or not... I had a Benelli Vinci for a while and it would consume anything but Remington Gun Clubs loads. Even after a couple of thousand rounds they would still hang up, it just didn't like those shells!

The Super Targets have caused issues in many guns, they are the only load that my SX-3 will malfunction with now and then, and I get tough extraction with the 20 gauge in my K-20. I have no issues at all with any other loads, including Top Gun, or Challenger, or Kent.

A good polishing of the chamber usually helps and never hurts.
If you don't have a buffer to fit the chamber, wrap a piece of leather on a dowel, spin it on a drill and use green polishing compound.

I have a Weatherby SA-08 20 ga . It comes with two gas pistons; one for light loads and one for heavy loads. Have you tried changing it?

this, or give it a good clean and make sure there is no heavy oil or grease in the gun. My SA08 12ga runs ANYTHING and there is a generous overlap with the heavy and light gas pistons. never tried winchester but it's run every other target load I've put through it as well as upland hunting loads and 3" duck loads.
