Default Measuring draw length question

A buddys wife told me she wants to buy her husband a bow for Christmas, but wants it to be a surprise.

what's the best way of getting his draw length without taking him into a bow shop?

He's 6'2 and has a pretty decent reach.

Should she say she's fitting him for a jacket or something and just measure his arms or something?

No idea here, and I'm just trying to help her out.

She wants to spend 5 - 600.00

thanks

She should get him a Gift certificate...a bow is a personal thing and if he has a large wing span, she may be limited in which bow will fit him.

I agree, and that's what I told her....plus I know if I got a 600.00 GC for xmas from my wife...I'd interpret that as a green light to leave the shop with a 1200.00 bow!!

But, I understand a GC is a bit underwhelming on Christmas morning, so I can understand why she wants to do this.

Some bows are draw adjustable to max ...pending on arm lentgh ..most are max 31" draw in that 6"2 height, so find an adjustable draw bow to 31"..explain to Pro shop its for Xmas ..and most will set up after Xmas...
