Default Hiking near Invermere

The girlfriend and I are heading to Invermere for this coming weekend and were hoping to get in a hike while there. Neither of us knows the area at all, so wondering if anyone has any suggestions for a good hike. Just looking to go for 2-4 hrs. Thanks.

This website should help. All the trails in the area.

If you drive up towards Whiteswan lake there is Lussier hot springs that are really not developed. you can google the location. It is probably pretty wintery up there yet.

If you head south, just past Fairmont, go about 1 km past the airport, then right (north) onto Westside rd. Go about 1 km and park on the left. There's some trails going back south that come out to the top side of the Hoodoos. Good view south looking towards Columbia Lake. Enjoy.

X2 on Lussier Hot Springs. Commonly known as Whiteswan Hotsprings.

Free, fairly natural and a nice drive to get to, just south of Canal Flats take the eastbound turn to Whiteswan provincial park, the springs are 24km down that gravel road from the blacktop.

I was up there last weekend, most of the snow is gone throughout the valley. Drove up to Whitetail lake looking to launch the boat, it was still half frozen. Nice drive though, road is in good shape.

Plenty of elk throughout the valley as well, keep your eyes open for sheds. Sorry I haven't hiked out there, but the Kootenays back road mapbook would be a good place to find hikes in the area.

Have fun out there!

The higher country will still have snow, the hoodoos trail as mentioned will be ok there is also a trail just outside radium heading south that follows the banks above the river. Mt swanse trail just east of Invermere behind windermere golf course should be clear of snow as well. Along the east side of Columbia lake south of Fairmont.
Anything on the eastside will have wood ticks as well so check after your hike.
Have fun.

One of my favourites (probably too early to hike yet) is Lake of the hanging Glaciers.

Bring sustenance. It's a decent hike.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys. With the weather looking like it is for the weekend, I'm not sure what we are going to get up too but it will be fun regardless!
