Hope all victims are okay.

Yeah because that's just something that normal people do.

Many did, most don't need a hug, more likely off his meds or needed meds.

Terrible.

Somethings i don't think even meds can help. Besides the sedating kind.

The world is losing its mind.

That's the issue, although deeply troubled most know right from wrong.

It's drug related.

Selling or buying or using or not using when he should. It's all drug related.Even the cure is drug related.

Or not. Maybe someone made him angry, so he's not responsible for his actions.

Two deceased, two in hospital at this point. A sad situation that might bring Bryant and Cukier out from underneath their rocks. Unlike the Brentwood stabbings. For them a mass shooting is a terrible thing to waste.

Yeah I'm dissapointed, I thought we'd see tougher sentencing by now. Lack of responsibility also irks me. Drugs do give many balance through, and as gun owners I think it's better to focus on mental health instead of gun ownership in regards to this episode. Maybe he had a temper, maybe disgruntled, but what ya wanna bet "he was usually nice but had been acting strangely" or "had been dealing with some problems".

I'm waiting to see how the reporting pans out afterwards.... a few weeks ago Calgary had it's worse mass murder, done with a knife. Not many called out for a knife ban. It will be interesting to see how the same groups call out for a gun ban after this tragedy, and how it's treated differently by the MSM.

Unfortunately even if the person shows signs of trouble the cops nor anyone else family include has the power to do anything to force help or containment. Not until the person actually does wrong can anyone force action, medication, treatment etc. Sucks but then again it'd be just as bad the other way around were law enforcement allowed to shackle someone or send them to the nut house or drug them up for POTENTIAL harm based on a few seemingly odd actions or accusations. Life sucks sometimes. Very complicated.

RIP to the victims

I am not sure who the other victim is, but rest in peace Fred. You were a great father, husband, and friend. I never saw you angry, all I have is good memories of you. We had lots of fun times together and I always enjoyed keeping in touch with you.

Thankfully there is lots of support for his family though he will be missed dearly.

As for the shooter, we will find out more details soon. Unfortunately this will also be a big black mark on legal gun owners. I don't believe he was a mental case, just let his emotions take him over. It's too bad that he made the choice of taking away lives all because of a job.

Where did this happen again? Nanaimo BC? That must be in the USA right? Because this kind of thing doesn't happen in Canada remember? Sure glad the police (you know, the guys with the guns that are there to protect us) were only minutes away when the seconds counted. I really hope one day people wake up and realize a law can't make you safe and the government needs to start allowing people to defend themselves properly (something no government, or fellow man should have a say in in the first place). This type of thing will only increase in occurrence as population increases. No law against guns, drugs, rape, assault, or murder will ever stop someone if they are hellbent on evil. Evil resides in people, and it might be only 1 in a million that want to hurt an innocent, but there's 35.3 million people in Canada and that number isn't going down. Sure do hope I'm not around when the odds stack up.

/rant off

My heart goes out to the family, friends, and co-workers of those people from the mill. Senseless is the only description for this. No matter the circumstances, nobody deserves to go to work healthy, and leave work in a bag.
