Thats the problem with most Perch lakes in this province, little dinks out number the hogs about 25:1. So when you find a good hole you threaten the life of everyone who knows it to keep it a secret

Mcmillan lake....5 years ago was hands down one of the best. Hard winterkill a few years ago and ever increasing access and pressure have changed that though. Would love to find another lake of that caliber that didnt kill.

Default Long Long Ago .... Missawawi Lake

Hands down, before the water level dropped and the winter kill happened, this was an International destination for big perch. Hopefully all the snow the last few winters will restore the lake and the water levels so this gem will return.

Nakamun is probably the best in the province. Got some 13 and 14's out of there...

I heard there is some nice perch at Hubbles Lake,
the access is the problem though, hate privitization,
every lake should have a provincial park - free of charge....

Is nakamun good again? I remember having the best perch fishing I've ever experienced for a few years back in my early teens. Then it got winter killed or somthing cause all I ever caught was a few small jacks and I then quit going there. But jeeze was it good for those few years! Plenty of 12-14 inchers and the action was non stop, worked at that camp acouple summers and fishid it just about every day.

I'm not sure what its like lately, but 4-5 years ago I was pulling tonnes of big perch out of Gardiner. It never seemed overly pressured either.

the best perch lake in alberta is probably one that not many people know about. and if they said anything about it, it would soon not be the best perch lake anymore. certainly wouldn't be posted on here.
