Not what I was referring to at all.

I wonder why no one has mentioned the fact that crossed pistols is a Confederate Army symbol.

So Hell Yeah I like it

And maybe it means that the Stampeders will rise again hahaha

"the promotion of violent western cowboy gun culture"????? You have a far to active imagination!

Where is the promotion of this happening? All I see is a couple of crossed pistols, something that harkens back to "the old west", a time quite a while ago, or "Westerns", and since Calgary is in the west.......

If that was the case then it would be promoting racism as well.

Really!!!?
Talk about missing something a tad closer to home.

The crossed pistols have so many different meanings.......

I for one find it refreshing to see a pro sports franchise take a step towards thumbing its nose at political correctness.... Well done Stampeders.

Calgary's crossed pistol are for the wild west theme, what else would they use; wagon wheels?

What would happen to a kid carrying a Roy Rogers lunch pail to school?

Obviously a child with a severe blood lust and a psychotic interest in gun violence. I'd recommend reprogramming by a caring social worker (preferably one that isn't a Stampeder fan)

Calgary is in the north west firstly, and did not exist till roughly 1880 and being a british colony law and order arrived first, ft Macleod 1875 ish 1886 Calgary had a population of 600. At which time the days of the open range were going the way of the dodo. in essence canada lacked the "wild west" cricket , brown trout , and the crown. till aprox 1892 when a huge influx of displaced US settlers moved north . Quite tame compared with our southern neighbors and the problems the settlers imposed on the FN During westward expansion

FG would inform him that Rogers was a fictional character and in no way represented the true west. He would probably go on to explain that there is no such thing as Santa Clause.

The short barreled guns as you showed are for our police force shooter competitions and the long barreled six shooter logo is for the Confederacy.
There is a difference.

And yes I'm very aware that the Stampeders logo does not represent the "South" just so ya know.
I didn't miss anything but thanks anyway hahaha

But they are also definitely not thumbing their nose at political correctness

Nope never got on well with many of my teachers ..and yes old roy is not a true representation of the south west ... Santa Claus was real on the other hand just warped thru time by society to become what we have today much like the line of this thread , reality vs fiction, as a member posted the crown and crossed pistols would be more correct representation of a Canadian history . given st johns cricket club is one of the oldest in canada and has a continuous history longer than the stampede say what , tally on and all that chaps

For someone so educated why is your spelling and sentence structure so difficult to read and understand most of the time?

Anyway.......the people should be more upset with the black uniforms with that big red splash on their helmet.
They changed a good thing and that's a bad thing.

Following suit, the Toronto Argonauts will be putting a sideways Glock on their sleeves.
