Some gunfighters carried two guns in the cap and ball era because they were unreliable who wants to be in a gunfight with a misfired pistol. Bill Hickok carried two pistols mostly for show or if one didn’t fire.

Hollywood had more to do with the 2 gun cowboy than reality

The drawing of two guns on a Stampeder jersey is a SYMBOL.

So...... How many eskimos are from Edmonton?
How many Bears are in Chicago?
Does Tampa bay get lightning?
Any kings in LA?
Did pittsburgh have penguins? Or pirates?

This is getting old.

Sorry you feel that way J. Hundreds of years of area history and a lack of people embracing it .

Hey Winston, you don't care about history. You are perverting and twisting it in the hopes of making it line up with your leftist ideology. Namely, your distaste for people carrying handguns. It offends you to your core that there was a time when people were allowed to carry a handgun, and you'd rather people not be reminded of a freedom that was taken away by people with views similar to yours.

you're right about this ..Mr WINSTON, import, is the kinda vocal minority problem we have and it's growing, because we listen to it and permit ... Views of our heritage are being brought to US ..

Fort Calgary was established in 1875 and a town sprung up in what is now known as Inglewood. The Indian threat was still valid. As late as 1885, during the North West Rebellion there was a great Metis and Indian threat to people living in this area. Edmonton thought they were under siege and a group of NWMP and armed cowboys rode from Calgary to Edmonton to assist, known as Steele's Scouts. An Army unit followed. A fort was built at Red Deer River crossing and Just outside Ponoka. In southern Alberta three troops of NWMP and armed cowboys were formed to protect Medicine Hat and Ft McLeod. The third troop went to Batoche. You probably didn't know that Harry Longabough spent a year working as a wrangler on the Bar U Ranch just south of Longview for a year. He then went to Calgary and bought into a bar in a hotel on 9th Ave. A disagreement developed between Harry and his partners over wages and a gun was drawn. (see Calgary police archives) Harry then left for Wyoming and met up with a fellow called Robert Leroy Parker and they went on to be come Butch Cassidy (Parker) and the Sundance Kid (Longabough). Yes, we had a sort of wild west.

What if he wore the jersey to school.I`m thinking banishment, social workers and child services protection. And re-education and sensitivity training. For the kid and the parents.
Gawd,I miss the good old days..............
