Curious what I should zero my Leupold VXR on my 338wm at with 225gr bullets, with intentions of using the CDS dial system? For now with just doing a basic break in... I zeroed it at 100 yards.

You can zero it at either but to me it would make sense to zero at 100 and if you prefer walk around with it on 200 on the cds.

The shorter your zero is the less range you'll have on your turret. If that makes sense. Lol.

I set all my guns 3" HIGH at 100 y and my .338 with 225 TTSX is right on at 251 yards. so good to go for 320 y without adjustment.

I believe leupold categorizes them by velocity/BC for what to use for a zero but it doesn't matter. You can choose what's best for you. You'll let them know on the data card you send to Korth. You can set it for max PBR, then adjust, or 100 or 200 yds if you prefer. I think you said you bought it for elk, so 200 yd zero would give you ~270 yds MPBR for an 8 inch group.

I'd zero at 100 unless it has a holdover reticle as well. Then, if you're in the tight timber your POA will be very close to POI for snap shots, and if you're in open spaces turn the dial to 260 for a 310 yd MPBR. If you've got time to range and dial, do it, otherwise within 300 yds you're good for holdover.

I used iSnipe for the calculations fwiw.
