Default New bow string

Looking at getting a new string put on my old Martin bow I can't seem to get rid of. Wondering if anyone has any suggestions on what kind of string I should go with or stay away from? Thanks in advance

I put a 60x custom string on my bow last year. I also bought a worlds best string as well. They both are pretty good, but I like the 60x better.

https://www.60xcustomstrings.com

http://worldsbeststrings.com/index.html

There are many other companies who build strings. These are just the two I have experience with. I had a string built by Jim out at pipestone creek archery on my last bow, it was pretty awesome too. But he's closed down now. Good luck with your new string!

Default 60x

I have 60x strings on both of my compounds. Beautifully finished and very stable. I can't recommend them highly enough.

I use 60X on all my bows, if you want a 10% discount use the code "AT10". They have performed flawlessly on hunt/3D and target bows. There are a lot of good string makers out there but I choose 60X.

How does one know when to replace your string, besides obvious damage or fraying? I have around 2000 shots on mine and about 20 days in the field hunting and it still seems fine. Any guidelines?

Depending on the manufacturer 2000 can be a lot or not many. Signs such as peep twist and not being able to maintain timing are the flags to get a new one.

Not that I know of but you can build them online on a virtual builder, or order the premade ones (6 color combos) for a discount. Place the order and expect them to your door in about 10-14 days.

Use code: AT10 for a 10% discount at checkout.

A quick question for the guys who have ordered 60x strings: I assume they are coming from the states? If so is there any duty to pay when they are delivered? I had a quick look at the website and didn't see where the company is based out of...

Pennsylvania, and I have never had to pay duty because they are manufactured in the USA. The price you are quoted exchanged into CAD is what you pay.

Just ordered my new string from 60x. They were extremely helpful with all my questions. Can't wait to get it on my bow. Next question for you guys. What's a shop going to charge me to have it installed on my bow?

I can't remember what jimbows charged? Give them a call, I'm sure they would be better help answering that question. Call a few shops even, to check it out.

I went with black and dark blue. With black serving. Looks pretty shape can't wait to see it on my bow! Red and black would look pretty slick too.

I went with Worlds Best and am very happy. I found them a great CANADIAN company to deal with.

I'll support local when possible...if the product is what I am looking for, if it isn't I am not opposed to supporting another reputable company that I have dealt with and know what to expect.

I have been using 60X for a few years now and they do an exceptional job, price is right, they look spectacular, and they hold a tune.

Brad Patsy and Todd Lambright have a few National and World titles between them. Todd was tied for 4th at the latest NFAA Nationals last weekend. These guys know what kind of strings are required on their bows to shoot at the level they do, and those are the same strings they provide to their customers.
