Default Chainsaw in a box

Anyone try out these Huztl/farmertec chainsaws that come in a box full of parts from china? They are pretty cheap and all you do is build them. Many different models of stihl and husky. Complete set of aftermarket parts.http://farmertec.en.made-in-china.com/

Are the "complete repair kits" everything but a bar and chain?

I'd sure be interested in hearing anyone's experience with this company & these saws. I tapped the reviews button on their website & nothing ? They have a MS070 (105cc) saw, less bar & chain for 1/4 of retail here. If it's any good, with a 36"+ bar be perfect for my Alaskan mill. Anyone know if stihl & husky are still made in Sweden ?

Aftermarket ? They are branded stihl & husqvarna, counterfeit I guess.
Was just thinking maybe they moved production to china or outsourcing parts there. Hope the heck not !

Not necessarily.
Husqvarna now makes a lot of their lower end saws (435 for example) in China.
Poulan, owned by Husqvarna has some parts that are shared between the two, are stamped 'Husqvarna' and are made in China.
These are 'genuine' Husqvarna (itself now owned by Electrolux) parts made in China.

Default chainsaws

Really in any type of weather use good quality gas. Stay away from fuel that contains ethylene, as that will cause problems in starting. Started my chainsaw in -20 to -25 weather this week. Just a few more pulls but it always fired up.

The ironic thing is ethanol acts just like gas line antifreeze (methanol) and the kicker....methanol is just like evil ethanol which everyone hates because it's soluble in water.

So you get these guys that only buy the premium gas because it contains no ethanol then they go and put some methanol (gas line antifreeze) in it in the winter "just in case" LOL.

Stihl apparently opened a parts manufacturing division in China a few years back. I am told that most of the consumable items like filters, handles and injected molded cases etc are made there but hard goods like sprockets, chains, and engine components are still sourced from Germany and in US.
Most parts are from Germany and North America and a good chunk ( approx. 80%) of their product line for the western market are assembled in Virginia, USA.
I suspect since these kits appear complete that these would be counterfeit/knock-off clones since only a portion of parts are made in China and strict rules prevent them from doing otherwise.
In talking with one of the Stihl executives recently he told me this was the only way they could maintain quality and avoid incurring duty on their product line.

At that price i highly doubt they are a licensed factory by stihl. At about a quarter the price i don't think i would want to use it for a work saw but for the back 40, maybe. They do saw wood.

Co-op premium gas & fuel stabilizer is what I use in all my small engines & never seem to have any carb problems (knock on wood).

Gas line antifreeze is actually ethyl, not methyl. We are able to use gasline antifreeze in many applixations where methanol would swell and destroy seals.
