That explains it. I was trying to figure out if you were ignorant or arrogant. Maybe a little of both. There is a few of us on here that have atc (authorized to carry). We are trappers, farmers among others. I won't pretend to know the numbers but we are out here. I'm not trying to be c--ty but maybe be a little better informed before spouting off.

I'm with you Ali. Absolute political suicide to loosen our firearms laws at all. I think the vast majority of the country would automatically oppose this and would not take 5 min to learn about the issue.

The registry turned into a national debate that really showed.......most people don't know anything about our guns laws, and really don't care.

If it wasn't for the billion dollar pricetag, and the incompetence of running it, I think it would still be here. The fact it dod nthing for public safety is irrelavant. ATT's do nothing, mag limits do nothing, but just try eliminiating them.

Unsure but more than likely. The media has a lot to do with public info and what kind of a spin they put on it. The gun advocates voice isn't nearly as load as the anti's. This petition my not change laws but it make people take notice. It's a start among many but nothing happens bitching around the coffee table.
For the naysayers it's quite simple" don't sign the petition" , maybe start another against so you'll be right.

When the registry was shut down was it not slipped in with another law that was passed. More or less under the radar.

There is a concept out there about building a straw man, there is a latin phrase out there. You take you're opponents idea, twist it into something that nobody would recognize, blow it up out of proportion, and there you have it for the weakminded at least, you have defeated your opponent.

I think ken had that as part of his byline for a while.

When this is done, it is not an an intellectually honest way to debate an issue.

Not at all, it was a Conservative campaign platform issue.

Apart form bringing up Toronto and MOntreal, what is he missing? If I can open carry, why can't a Somalian gang banger in ED? There is no mention at all in the petition to ATC's.

What are you saying he is missing?

I have many guns and am a hunter, but what I want an what's going to happen are two different things. In a fantasy world I would like to carry a 357 magnum on my hip,in reality I know in this country that's never going to happen for multiple reasons.

If you don't have a record it is easy to get an RPAL. What is stopping anyone? I think Ali's question is legit.

Do you seriously think it would never be brought up and it would be avoided?

Your off your nut , the shining example of "no guns , for you " we currently have a near unmeasurable death from firearms per 100000 people are you tring to suggest more gun would lower this tiny number . Your not talking any sense, power to the people thats communism. Lol
