But in this case there was no cause for arrest.
The kid ran away when he saw cops because the cops are known to be unjustly violent in that neighbourhood.

Running from police when ordered to stop is eluding, a crime.

Not quite, remember the 12 year old carrying the pellet gun and was shot to death? Hardly a reason to execute a child.

Exactly.
Walking down the streets in lots of these neighbourhoods, is enough to have your neck hair stand on end.

Put yourself in the officers shoes, rough neighborhood.
Lots of kids pack heat down there, he has a gun. Protect yourself, or be shot.
They DID tell him to drop it.
Far cry from an execution.

I remember it ^ well ... it's another example of the; "shoot first, and ask questions afterwards" culture that's down there.

Flawed as it may be, give me Canada anyday!

Well just for fun, I'm going to challenge that ^. Cuz if we think about it, everyone is; 'a person of colour' ... unless you're invisible!

As a side-bar, I spent 10+ years living down in the States in my younger days. I had many friends of 'the darker complexion', cuz they got to know that I was Canadian, and not racist. One of the many jokes I had with them, was when I referred to them as; 'not so white'. We always got a good laugh out of that. I still miss them.

Funny how their "protests" always include looting electronic stores. Makes you wonder if some people just wait for the opportunity.

And to be scientifically correct.....they are not people of color because Black is not a real color but white is.

Somewhat like the 60's again, maybe the initial ignition reason is different, but, the base of the problem doesn't seem to have changed, it is not all about the cops, they are just a convenient face of government. It just needed something to set it off again. I saw something saying the Bloods and Crips in Baltimore, had even set up defense against the rioters to keep them out of their hoods, probably against the cops, too, but.....
Stay tuned and see what happens next I guess. I read they declared state of emergency, National Guard should get deployed PDQ.

So true ^

Those friends of mine had many terms for the whites that kept them down ... 'honkies', 'white trash', *&^%$#, etc.

But for me, they called me; 'The Canadian' ... and I wore that badge with pride.

Take a breath. What does NAACP stand for and what was the name of the guy who busted on drug charges last week? He was a president of one of the chapter's of the NAACP.

If Gray died because the cops messed up, then there is a process to deal with that. This rioting is no different than Detroit 1967. Google the riots in July in the city of brotherly love. Pics could have been taken in Baltimore yesterday.

Relying on CNN for facts regarding this particular situation, or any others for that matter, is foolhardy.

Lots of mis/uninformed opinions in this thread as far as I'm concerned. It's these kinds of myths that continue to support and perpetuate false narratives that hurt everyone.
