Default Utikima

Well I'm sure many of have though about making the trip to catch the last of the hardwater. I'm trying to put something together with the pops and a friend. I've never been before but that rarely is enough to stop me. Has anyone been there this year? Is anyone planning on making the venture up there?

Earlier in the week the fish were biting good at Utikuma. Getting on the lake was no problem, just go straight out from point of entry and you will see where the action has been. Not a lot of travel all over the the lake due to the kind of winter it's been. Enjoy yourselves...

Thanks doug thats exaxtly what I wanted to here. If I can get on with the 4X4 and get to where the fish are at, then it's worth the trip. Just to be sure the point of entry you speak of....Is that off hiway 88 on the east end of the lake? I'm guessing that most are fishing around the island and that the acces point is right near the island. Like i said I've never been before just going off what i can recal from old posts.

Yeah, you turn left off 88, and head right in.. There has not been much happening around the island. Just go straight out, maybe 500yds, and giv er.
As is usually the case are on again and off again, during the day but when they're on the action has been good....

Default bump

Just wanted to bump this thread to see if anyone made it out this weekend. I'm heading up early Saturday maybe late friday. Friend from work said that they got into some perch but couldn't get atop the eye's they were fishing on the 5th and 6th. It's supposed to be very nice weather wise so i figured its a good time to go and catch the last of the ice for the season.

Anyone planning on heading up this weekend?

Good luck up there! Report back if you go. I'm interested in how things are.

I doubt I'll get out at all this weekend. I have to head out of town on business Sunday so time is short. Besides, open water is on the way. Supposed to be +18 on Sunday.......yahoo!

I'm not certain, but i'm guessing so. For the most part I think it is a popular late ice destonation because it is open year round.
