The one who deserves something is huntinstuff. No need to send in a reason.

I voted for 220swifty. Seems like a nice guy. I'm a bit disappointed that my handle isn't up there... Maybe it was something I said. How many sturgeon did your clients cradle last year John? Should be a good time.

Honored to be nominated! I don't think I'm special, but apparently someone does! When did my mom join the forum?

As a regular on AO there are several names on the list that I immediately recognize for their contributions and they are outstanding nominees. I nominated a less known member, Uncle John, that AO members would not know about the contribution that he made for what he did for my 18 year old nephew that came from Germany and wanted to work on a ranch for the summer as a life experience. Uncle John and his wife made a summer long commitment to provide him with the best possible experience in Canada as they possibly could.

John and his wife welcomed my nephew into their home and spent so much time making sure that he experienced as much of what Canada had to offer as they possibly could. Every week my nephew was on another adventure whether it was horses, quading, hiking, canoeing, fishing, Calgary Stampede, Dinosaur Museum.....just too much to list. They didn't have to do all of the things that they did with him and he could have ended up somewhere else where he wouldn't have seen any of what Canada had to offer.

I'd like to thank BBJ for allowing me the opportunity to publicly thank Uncle John and his wife and I wish all nominees the best.

uh oh... here we go... LOL the difficulty with public popularity contests. Guess you should have nominated one CS. I could have too, couple worthy ones I know, but didn't read this thread until just now.

The names I recognize are all worthy candidates. Don't know some others. I picked one, too bad I couldn't also swing a vote to a few others there I respect. Thanks to all.

x2 I voted for ABB 9 times!

Good on ya John for doing this!

The winner should do a trip report.

Would love to see the data you've collected as well.

I voted for 220swifty. I nominated him, so I figured I might as well vote for him too. lol
Without going into too elaborate detail, he got my nomination because, two summers ago, while they were away, my folk's house got broke into and cleaned out (including all my dad's guns). They needed a carpenter, on very short notice, to come and replace the door that got kicked in. I phoned him to see if he could give them a hand? He basically dropped whatever it was he was doing (at a very busy time of the year for him), and went out and patched the door up for them. I, along with my parents, were very grateful to him. He then offered to lend my dad a rifle for the upcoming hunting season if he needed one. Very generous. So, if you're just voting randomly, vote for 220swifty. He's a really good guy. I'm sure the others in the contest are all great guys too, but I can personally vouch for 220.

One guy in particular up there seems to always be helping people down on their luck. Not that everyone doesn't deserve this, but I hope Ken wins.

This whole thing is a great idea and very generous. Kudos and good karma to you sir.

Hands down Cat. Personally speaking Cat did something very generous for me that helped me keep my mind off some personal stuff I have to deal with. Aside from that, he is a great member here and always has a positive take on things and his knowledge of shooting, hunting and the outdoors is second to none. Very happy to see others hold him in such high regard as well.

Guys and Gals,
I am sorry I may not have went through the proper procedure for this contest, however Lannie Post #6 should be the end of this discussion.
If not for Huntnstuff contribution to our outdoor sports world, we may be having a much different conversation right now.
I totally agree the other candidates are very deserving of this great offer by BBJ, but as most of us are hunter's and fisherman , consider what we may have in terms of firearms regs without support from guys that put it all on the line like this member.
And no, I do not know or have met Huntnstuff.

Thanks,
And accept my apologies for the derail, however we as outdoorsman need to remember the few that take it to the wall for the benefit of us all.

There are many on this board that are willing to go above and beyond for others, but one in particular got my vote. Finally had a chance to meet the man and shake his hand.

BBJ, damn good of you to offer this.
