I have a 3 wt flyrod and an 8 wt in the truck. What are you usually getting there? Are you chucking big pike flies or wolly buggers?

I use green jig tubes at the boat launch, have decent success I guess. Just a tip, where the launch goes in to river, on the right of the concrete there's is a sort of a little rock wall that runs out, it's a bastard for stealing lures.

You can catch Walleye or Pike at the mouth of the McLeod on a Wooly Bugger on your 8 weight. Water is a little low on the McLeod but the Athabasca is high. Would head for the Freeman with the 3 weight.

I have only fished the McLeod river further up by Cadomin and had success with small panther Martians for nice sized rainbows.

If your not afraid to get a lil wet I will pm you later tonight when I get home with a great spot to go. One of my holes, Dont mind giving it to someone to use, since I likely will never fish there again.

Last night was a bust..

Tried the spey rod with a big streamer in the Atha and tailing it out into the McLeod.. Nothing... tried the 8 wt with a wooly bugger... nothing, spoons, jigs, plastics, rattlers, cranks, plugs...

BUPKISS

no one caught anything.

Will try your spot tonight winger. Will pack in the fly rod and spin gear. Determined to get one tonight!!!!

When you walk to the river, from that parking spot, head to the right. Just before the rapids there its the shallowest for crossing the river, This time of year should be just above the knees
