Default Landslide lake???

Has anyone ever done any ice fishing on landslide lake before? If so how is the fishing and when does the ice usually get thick enough out there?

Went in on horseback... was a good time. Cutties were onto flies right at shoreline. Don't know about the ice but I would assume Dec would be safe.

How would you get there? It would be hard going up the trails with ice and snow but I suppose you could hike on the frozen Kline River. I don't have the fishing regulations handy but check if it has any winter closures.

I just checked the regulations online and it is open year round. I was thinking about Lake of the Falls that is closed for the winter.

Lake of Falls (10-36-19-W5)
July 1 to Oct. 31 – Cutthroat limit 2; Bull Trout limit 0; Bait Ban.
Nov. 1 to June 30 – CLOSED

Lake of Falls’ tributaries & outlet for 1.5 km downstream
July l to Aug. 31 – Trout limit 2; Cutthroat limit 2 over 30 cm; Bull Trout limit 0; Bait Ban.
Sept. 1 to June 30 – CLOSED

Landslide Lake (7-36-18-W5) – Open all year – Trout limit 2.

If you are hiking-in I would recommend snowshoes. You never know how much snow is in the higher elevations. You could run into a wall. I would expect the ice forms fairly quickly because of the altitude and lack of any significant inlet flow into the lake. I wouldn't feel comfortable telling you any specific time though.

Good luck - and keep us posted.
