Default Sturgeon River - Calahoo

Hey everyone,
I'm heading to a friend's place in Calahoo and thought I would hit up the Sturgeon River while I am there. I've done a little research, and found out that it's a pretty standard river with pike, walleye, etc in it. Has anyone ever fished it? Especially near Calahoo? Is it easy to get to? Any decent spots to throw a few casts in the water?

There is a decent spot under the bridge right before town if your traveling from Edmonton on Hwy 37. She is really damed up this season by the beavers.

Awesome. Will have to try it out. Would it be better to go upstream or down from the beaver dam.

Fish on either side, I find they like to hang out right at the top or bottoms of the dams waiting for food. Watch out for snags, there is an amazing amount of dead fall in this river. Don't hesitate to try in between dams as a lot of fish tend to get caught in the middle.

Will definitely remember that. Thanks for the tips. I'll let you know how it went after the weekend.
