Default Bear Pics..Is this bear Pope and Young size??

Tried my hand at Baiting for the first time this year. Found a spot last fall while scouting for elk, that had promising bear sign. This is the biggest Boar at my spot.
I'm looking for a Pope and Young sized boar.
Just wondering what the experts think. What will this bear score? and how long would he be nose to tail?

thanks BIG JIMMY

That bear is definatley pope+young! It is a pig!!! The black barrell looks like it is a 32" barrell, not a 28" and the bears back is above the barrell by quite a bit. You will be very happy with him, as would anyone. Now go get him! best of luck!

I am not going to say what his skull will go as how can you be sure but I think it is a safe bet he is over 18. He has a short face and a crease with good distance between the eyes and that has always been what I look for not to mention his size compared to the barrel. Take him you won't be disappointed.

Personally, I doubt he'll go 19 but I'd say he's over 18 for sure.

Like I already told you....who the hell cares if he's P&Y or B&C?? Too many idiots are far too concerned about getting their name in a book IMO. He's a great looking bear, and considering how you haven't shot a bear yet, he'd be a GREAT first one. Its just too bad that I'll be the one that has to shoot it because your wife is due in the next week. But you can measure the skull when I bring it by for peace of mind if you like.

He should make P&Y easy, he does have a short snout on him by the pics which will hurt his length, but overall he is a great looking bear! Good size, great coat, don't worry about the score, if he is something that you like, let the air outta him and be happy with a great bear!

It's always a gamble, but I'd be shooting now, excellent size, skull should make book. .....If not, there's always next year.

If you decide against shooting him, just let me know and I will get rid of him for you.
