I picked up a sturgeon outfit from Alberta Bigbore last month. I am stoked to get on the river with it and tangle with one of the big gals

I will be spending a week on the side of the SSR if it takes me that one long to catch one. I have a week off and will not go back to work until this one is marked off on my list. I still need to get my gear.

I have never caught one, but planning on putting in some time this summer to do it. I have my fingers crossed that I can cross sturgeon off my bucket list.

Naw the guy I get my stuff threw makes them 6 oz . says they are about 99 % snag proof . and for our spot there unless you hook into that damn tree should be very snag proof .

Rockymtnx... You better be careful... when BBJ uses words like butt plugs... Hot and heavy... alodar as bait........ ..

He means business. Sleep one eye open and you better pick up these 4 boxes of slugs... And a spare shovel....... You may need them.

I will have to take time between pike this year for sure, especially since I can find them 6 miles from home. BBJ post a pic of-dare I say it- your butt plugs when they arrive, Im going to need some sort of weight for them.

where would a guy fish for sturgeon here in Alberta? i just moved to Grande Prairie, and the only two things i really miss about BC is the stillwater trout fishing and sturgeon fishing. i've fished for dinos on the Fraser River. latched into one hog that we estimated went 12 feet long, but i lost it. i landed a pretty little dink last summer, about 4.5 feet.

Sturgeon can be found in the North Saskatchewan and South Saskatchewan Rivers as well as the Red Deer River.
