Cleats
With all the snow we're getting I don't know how much I'll need them this year, but I want to pick up a pair of ice cleats for when I'm fishing on bare ice.
Last year I went through a couple of different HT sets I believe. They were OK but not stellar...I had one strap break entirely, and lost a few of the studs out of the cleats as time went on.
So what are some decent ones that are worth buying? Preferably something that will last at least a full season.

A lot of guys I fish with both here and in Manitoba use 3/8" stainless machine screws tapped into the lugs of ur boots.
Cheap as Chips and work like a hot damn in both ice and snow.
Cheers.

I do the same. Except I use socket cap head screws. Loctite them into the rubber and they are GTG. I can run flat out on windblown sheer ice, no problem. Good for out running buddies while I scream "FLAG!!!!!"
Except when I fish with Jack&7 and NHO. It's then I dump my arse completely onto my elbow. Still amazed my collarbone held togehter. I was standing still at the time.

geezle i am going through the same thing right now trying different types and last nite i picked up a set from kahtoola "microspikes".they look sorta like a set of tire chains but for your boot and has a heavy duty somewhat stretchable rubber ring that fits over the top of the boot to hold it in place. i havent tried it out yet but seems promising. cost was a bit more that i would have prefered but $65.

I got a set of the microspikes last season. Went out probably twice a week during the peak times. So far, so good! Even had it on lakes like PCR where it's simply a sheet of ice and it was awesome. I would highly recommend it and it's well worth the price IMO cuz u still get the option of not using spikes on ur boots.

What my old man used to do for ice racing, we take bolts and screw them into your boots and throw that black grease stuff used for fixing tires and cover the bolt face. Make sure you screw them from the inside out.

I use the Dirtbike auger type also, Nothing better on the market, You put 16 in a boot and you will never slip, I have them in both work boots and love them, You dont notice them in your boots, My opinion they are the best. till i find something better.

Cleats
I'm reading this thread thinking I'll respond seeing as getting back into ice fishing was scary for me and I was leary. Borrowed a pair of Icer's and they worked great.
I see Bubba96 told the story before I got a chance to though. $42.00 @ Lee Valley. Sizes from youth to XXL and made in Canada.
I missed quite a few years of ice fishing because of my fused ankles but am looking forward to it again.

Durability wise, they've outlasted any other type of ice cleat I've used in the past.

$55 from MEC and in my opinion, well worth it. I actually use them for running during the winter and you barely notice they are there (unless you are on direct concrete).
There's some pretty awesome reviews on the site too:

I use these bad boys...
I think they were around $30, but well worth it. They're called Stabilicers, and I think I got mine from Greggs Distributors if I remember correctly...

Ive gone through about a dozen pairs and these ones by far are the best i've had. I've always had issues with them slipping off or the rubber getting frail and falling apart. But knock on wood because these ones have worked perfect for a couple year now.
