Default Whitetail Biologists...

Hey folks I was just wondering where a person goes to find the contact information for biologists studying Whitetails in Alberta? Or if you can't contact the biologists, are their studies available for public use?

Default Go to University of Calgary

Hi: Check out some published works of Dr. Valerius Geist. I think he is a prof at the university of calgary. He studies ungulates in Alberta.

There are a number of biologist you can find that work at the Alberta Conservation Association as well as the U of A.

Cheers,

Hoopi

Val Geist IS the authority in ungulates, at least for NA deer and also mountain sheep. He is a close friend and a valuable source of unbiased/accurate information. He has authored a book on WT's (White Tail tracks_Out of print but available from Amazon), another one called "Deer of the world" again, only available used from Amazon. He retired from UOC a few years back.

There is another great book by Koller called "Shots at whitetail". It is an awesome read.
