I've recently caught rainbows at Carson where one 14" trout was full of corn and it still hit my bait. I even had one that had a small crayfish about an inch long inside. I suspect that if the trout can't expell the waste out the exhaust pipe it comes out the intake.

Actually Ken, I'd say go ahead and keep using corn if ya want. All the corn in him was pretty undigested...and I think it's unlikely that he robbed somebody's bait that many times. Methinks somebody either chummed under their hole or dumped their leftovers and he pigged out on it. Apparently he was still hungry though

I think that after a day or two the corn pulp should digest and the husk or whatever you want to call it should be easy enough to pass.

I caught a 2lb Rainbow this year at Auburn Bay and when I gutted it I counted 50! yes 50 pieces of corn in it's stomach.

It may have been able to pass it but he would have been bunged up for a long time.

Ha...that means whoever was fishing with corn is a crappy fisherman...using the right bait but can't land squat.

Default corn

I have heard that about corn........dont belive it is true. I caught a Brookie in Cameron lake years ago and it had a fair size spruce cone in its stomach....Tough to digest that. Also caught a Pike in Pine lake with 6inch rubbber lure in its gut.

The rectum and digestive systems are incredibly stretchy. Ask a nurse. It is amazing what can actually pass through. A kernel of corn is not gonna plug up a fish. The shell will have no problem passing.
