I don't see any reason for the flaming here people. There's no reason a person should have to be thick skinned for making a simple post such as this one. I would assume the mods that have been chosen have a lot of experience with hunting and the outdoors and are mods for a reason, they know how to deal with people and promote the Alberta Outdoorsmen Magazine in a positive way. By the looks of some of the comments made you would stand a better chance as the voice of this forum and magazine. I'm not saying that I'm perfect on what I choose to post and if I should choose to post a purgatory comment it is done so with reason. Welcome and enjoy! Ignore negative comments and find your place to fit in.

If this is NOT the case, thinking there may be a screening process and character reference of some sort, if it is, there must be a reason or some sort of vendetta he's looking for, however if his intentions are good, the automatic negativity makes me shake my head. I'm sure being a MOD can be very stressful for a volunteer position

I heard they get a free hat, imagine that, they put up with having to read our nonsense, make decisions for the good of all and someone then picks a fight with them or threatens them because their post gets deleted. They should get a t shirt as well for all that.

I would say that to become a mod one would have to demonstrate maturity, reason and an element of fairness, not to be confused with being a pushover for those who are constantly filling out butt hurt reports in perpetuity. The forum has rules to abide by and enforce and many personalities to accommodate and occasionally police. So far I'd say the OP would not be on anyone's radar for such a position.
First month in AO (at least under their present pseudonym) and they want to run the place? Perhaps we should elect some refugees that just moved here into government office while we're at it....

This isn't like a condo board, you don't have the right to join the moderation team here. You have to demonstrate, over a long period of time, a dedication to the forum and a desire to see what is best for it as a whole.
This cannot be accomplished in a week, or a month, or even a year.

I've been quietly observing whats been going on here when it comes to trolls and troublemakers the past little while, and this "new" guy is doing nothing but trying to get a reaction.
He is contributing nothing to this forum and is only trying to get attention.
