Why I prefer Catch and Release
This is why I prefer catch and release:
These are a few fish me and a couple friends caught last year and have already recaptured this year. It is cool to see how much they have grown! Catch and Release works, here is the proof. The brown grew over 2 inches since last year and the rainbow is up 1.5 inches. Tight Lines everyone!
(oh by the way, I eat fish that I catch as well...I just PREFER catch and release...)

I'm curious, how do you know they are the same fish?

Bobloblaw posted pics after catching the same brown a couple of times, same fish with the same markings... Catch and release when done properly works very well.

I have been fishing since age 6, caught hundreds of fish and only ever kept maybe 9 or 10.
Not only for the fact that I don't eat fish but because of this very reason.
It is awesome to go back to my favorite fishing spot, drop a line and have a good fight with some old friends!

This is exactly how I feel about heading back to my favorite trout lakes. Couldn't have said it any better!

That's a cool hobby you have there. But as I said elsewhere, I prefer being more connected to the natural world by occaisionally harvesting my own food as man has done for millenia. Not quite ready to totally depend on Safeway for my sustinance. Same reason I hunt rather than photograph. It's more meaningful to me personally.

I agree with this to a certain extent as well, which is why I also commented that I do occasionally keep a few from my catch. Thanks for the comment.

im pretty sure you can by fish tagging kits,(not sure where though...lol) would also be a good way to identify recaught fish. looks like you got it down by looking at the markings. cool pics!!!
