A buddy text me said lets go to salters, i said fine whatever may as well put down the world of warcraft for a few hours and hit up a lake that has open water on it, i have never been here myself but it turned out to be a great day, my buddy caught the biggest of the day a 14 inch bow that he kept, it is the last pic, all the rest were 8-11 inches, fly rod broke in the first 10 minutes a T.F.O i wont be buying one of these rods again, so had to fish bobber worm
-_-
this was the most beautiful trout i caught this year so far, even though it was small the colors were brilliant.
there was a release hole someone drilled very close to the open water part, so was using it to release trout unlike some other stupid dummies using the open water to catch and throw.
this one was a 14 inch trout that my friend caught and kept, it was the biggest of the day, had a great time though, all thought bobber fishing is not really my thing is was cool to watch the bobber go down every cast.
i love fishing salter but have aleays been leery of casting from the edge of the open water. are you allowed to open water cast and at the same time have a tip-up or two through a hole? very rarely do you get a chance to ice fish and fly fish at the same time.
