Default Grizzlies with red steel tags in their ears?

Where are these bears from? Montana? B.C.?

Ive heard of sightings in national parks with bears having red or yellow tags in their ears. Never seen one for myself.

IIRC Park bears have a fairly large visible yellow tag, plastic maybe. Red metal tags might be relocated bears ??

Orange tag in the left ear indicates it is a boar.

Had an encounter with one several years ago in the Grande Cache area. Red ear tag in his right ear. He had no fear off us. Wasn't aggressive and wanted to come closer and he was already close. We left.

The ones with the steel tags are the ones that Jim Pis5ot personally hugged and added to the grizz count.

Nothing to be concerned about till they switch to grommets in the ears and nasty tatts.

This family of grizzlies showed up in Jasper 2 years ago. Apparently, they got into trouble in the Canmore/Kananaskis area and were relocated in the Hinton area. One of the cubs stayed in K country, and I believe he is still there.

Mama had a radio transmitter tag, but it stopped working soon after she was tagged.

The cubs had plastic tags.
