Default Well, looks like I survived the surgery.

It was deLayed 3 hours, went in about 3 p.m. and got out about 7 p.m. Woke up about midnite in ICU and stayed till about 4 p.m. Thursday. Then I was transferred to the Recovery ward . Yesterday they took out the drainage tube and the catheter a surgeon just left and said I'll likely go home Monday. Still some serious chest pain while breathing or coughing.

Thanks for all your thoughts and wishes .

Brian.

Good to hear. That chest pain will go away. I think it's the air they blow you up with.

Great news and hope your recovery goes well. A pillow is your best ffiend when you have to cough or sneeze, still hurts but does lessen the pain. Heed the warning about being careful what you lift for the first couple of months.

Congrats
My wish for you a very long and happy life.

And since you survived-How about a bad cardiac surgery joke

I got over my 80's addiction by immersing myself in a ton of cardiac surgery videos.

Just totally clips of the heart.

Glad to hear you're doing well and came out the other end.
Surgery is never any fun.
Take your meds and soon you can cough and sneeze again without wanting to cry.... I'm almost there

Good news indeed. Time will take care of the pain and you'll be on boogie soon.

Jeepers. Ya mean there are two of us?

I already like your wife's sense of humor

Good News!!!!!!!!! Do what the docs say, my dad thought he could carry a half pail of water to the front of the house before the time line was up to do that and he re tore his incision a bit. Quick recovery, hunting season is coming fast

Good Luck. Take it easy and follow you doctors orders. First few couple of weeks can be bit tough, but it gets easier daily once the incision is healed up.

Hang in there fella.

I am a big proponent of positive thinking when it comes to health issues like this.
So, be + through this.
