Default Beware of fake Leupold's

Last night I saw a Leupold Tactical... well it said Leupold, but it wasn't. The fellow selling it didn't try and pass it off as one he told me outright MADE IN CHINA.

How do these guys get off selling a direct copy even to the point of calling it Leupold. Well it's our fault for supporting Chinese products. I won't even buy groceries that originate in China. Saddest one I've seen is Captain Highliner...good Canadian company..right...read the small print.....product of China. By the way, if you ask, the stores have to give you a list of countries of origin for their merchanise. Superstore gave me their item code preixes for Comunist Chinese products.

They are making a direct copy of the BMW Mini. BMW sued them in a Chinese court...guess what? The Chinese judge determined that it wasn't a copy...B.S.

Well, I guess we deserve what we get.....

Buy local what you can, Canadian when you can, and U.S. when you can't .

Don't start cryin when your livelyhood is threatened by off-shore products.

(Not trying to derail....but related to buying imported products...)

I don't know if I want to admit this on here, might get labelled as a granola ....but have you guys heard of "The Organic Box"

I only did this for my Wife....it makes her happy...basically it is a "to-your-door" local (as much as possible) organic produce delivery company.

It costs a bit more but the products are locally obtained (when possible) or organic producer provided.....yes you pay a premium but it doesn't support the scoundrels from other countires who undercut and sell their "pesticide bathed" produce products....

There I said it and admitted it....mods if you need to suspend me for supporting "organic" I understand

China is such a powerhouse on so many levels with the number of products they reverse engineer and undercut truly good products....really sad....

The knock offs have no bar code on the bottom bottom of the scope or serial number.
I don't believe they have the leupold logo on the side as well.

Do these Leupold knock offs also carry a Leupold price?

Where do you send them for warranty service? The recycling depot?

Mountain Equipment Coop: I buy stuff at that place. Those camping suds are wonderful for washing the dog off after she rolled in coyote/wolf poop. Honest!!!

One must wear MEC clothing when invited to NDP/Liberal fundraising Bar Bee Ques.

I find those NDP/Liberal Bar Qs to be a nice place to pick up lonely cougars
I tell the ladies how I despise people like that Greylynx fellow.

I know, If Treeguy were here, I would be called a Bad Kitty and sent to the laundry room.

Well we better get that pipeline built so they can do it quicker.

Money it corrupts us all.

Remember when China was the enemy?

What changed?

They pursue their agenda quietly building an ecconomic empire that may make them the only superpower and continue to rip us off with crappy substandard, toxic and knock-off goods.
They are constantly getting caught spying and trying to hack into computer systems.
This comes up so often perhaps I should have asked why western governments haven't recalled their diplomats and returned Chinese nationals from whence they came?

Why are we even trading with them?
Don't we all, already have enough junk?
Aren't we all tired of exporting jobs?

Good lord..it is bad enough when jobs go to the third world but to send them off to help a country and government that have been hostile to our way of life for the last 60 or so years is just crazy.

I dont support their beliefs, that being said it is often a nice change to shop at an outdoors store where the salesman has actualy used the products he/she is selling. Also I dont know how far the anti thing actualy goes. I've bought lots of stuff there, I tell them I use it to hunt moose from a canoe and any remarks I've got are positive. Plenty of people are anti's because the dont actualy understand what we do, they think we rip around on quads blazing away at anything from outragious ranges just to lop off the horns... oh wait.

Seeing as how we are an exporting country, ie. we sell far more of our production than we consume, personal "Country of Origin" bans doesn't always make sense. We sell a pant load of grain to China, and will only sell more in the future as they move off rice and onto other staples, ie wheat etc. I love my Norinco's, and will continue to buy them. The USA is not being friendly to us Canadian shooting consumers at all right now, so my buying loyalty to them is being reciprocated.
