Edmonton Beavers (Scouts, not women)

Looking at signing my oldest son up for Beavers in Edmonton. I grew up in a "scouting family" (25th Red Deer) with us three kids going all the way through to scouts and having some pretty great memories (Devon Winter Challenge, Pacific Jamboree, Horse Camps etc), and both of my parents were leaders, so it would be nice to carry on that tradition with my family.

I'm looking for your thoughts on Beaver groups in North East Edmonton. Let me know if you are/were part of one of the groups and help steer my decision making on which group to pick.

Edit: I'm also open to any other ideas you may have for youth activities I'm not aware of, similar to Beavers, where there is a focus on the outdoors.

Second Edit: My son is 6, and will be 7 on January 1 next year, going into grade 1 this fall.
