6-7 years ago when I first hunted that zone it was amazing.
last time I was there I got a good one. But the numbers sure were down.
My best friend lives out there now, and there family has a pile of land I get to hunt on.
Makes a great trip and get in some good visiting time as well.
I hope to get a 180 deer this time. But mostly just like the hunt.
I really look for the odd ball horned deer, don't really care on score just want something cool.
I was a P3 this year

Nope once a tag is awarded that's that

The only fix is to build up priority points until you can draw again, where you want to.

Go look at what you put in for it will say what Zone or if you 999 it they won't just out you in a random zone

We did get drawn with P 6, but we were also thinking it would b about a 50/50 chance based on previous numbers . Can't wait as mulie camp will b sweet . Went down last year to help two first time buddies on or near rememberence day, temps were in the high 20's, still had a blast! Hope for cooler temps with some snow, not lots. Good luck to all with their adventures and play safe !

Im looking forward to see how many whitetail doe permits were handed out here in 108 .. With an all time high number of deer here and the few tags that locals that Ive talked to that have received one it will be interesting to see if numbers were dropped again this year .

Headed to Wainwright for the 1st time for muzzle loader/ archery deer. I know it is not as good as it use to be, but I had priority 7 so I figure I might as well give it a try. My hunting partner will be there for moose at the same time, so should be a lot of fun.

Everything else will be general with archery tackle and maybe a late season rifle hunt for whitetail in 511.

Looks like a P9 wasn't good enough this year for turkey or at least a percentage of 9's didn't get the draw. Here's to next year with double digit priority.

Anyone draw a turkey tag?

Last year there were two cow elk tags per license in the zones around Suffield. When does one find out if there are two tags this year? The family has been awarded two licenses this year but I'm counting on four tags and there's no sign of how many yet. I'm dying to know if we get four or two only.

Looks like I have some competition! Lol. I'll be looking for a Bullwinkle in 242 as well. I'm hoping to harvest my first moose this fall. I've drawn before in other areas, but have never been successful. I'm really hoping to bag one with the bow. Good luck!!

Got Camp Wainwright Deer Primitive with a friend. Will partner up with my son. He drew late season cow elk 510. My 2 daughters each drew calf moose 510. Only thing I didn't get was early season moose in 511 but I knew there was a chance of that.

Wink

So off I went...hungry...tired....wet....and spotted this fella off in the distance, close to him was a container or what seemed to be a trap...crawled for 100 yards, trap had gone off, no movement inside...crawled as close as I could get, slowly, painfully I lifted the lid on this trap reached in and took hold of my prey, rolled on my back and sunk my teeth in...looked to the heavens and saw the old mans face....thanks kernel Sanders...who needs a draw tag!

At the rate of 125 tags per year it will take 5 years just to get thru the priority 8 who applied last year and who were priority 9 this year. Add in those who 999 the draw and the wait could be substantially longer. Turkey is like the sheep draw in 437. I 999 them both. Can get drawn for turkey anytime as a P14 now. Sheep, P16 and will never get drawn at the current tag numbers.

Never got drawn for anything as 999 everything.
